Perhaps the biggest disappointment is that network play won't be included this is because MicroProse are about to launch Civnet, a network-play version of the original. But the most obvious change is one of perspective - everything in the Civ world is now completely three-dimensional. Combat has been tightened up and new units, advances and wonders introduced, so that players of the original will have plenty to learn. There's the same detailed gameplay and still endless opportunities for trying out different strategies.
